Myth or truth

A very interesting question was asked recently in an interview to Konrad Paul Liess man, philosophy professor at the University of Vienna. And I share his answer, which is even more remarkable.
Are the rapidly dwindling job opportunities for (pure) humanist myth or truth? Can you recommend students in times like these, a philosophy degree?

Liessmann: I believe that this is a myth, if only because in the humanities - was trained never for a specific profession, apart from the teaching profession - other than perhaps in medicine or in some technical studies. Scholars had always different perspectives to envisage, they were already flexible before this ability to fashion. The very philosophy is a good example. The good general education, coupled with logical, analytical and linguistic skills to offer this program qualifies, I think some much better for a more demanding work than some supposedly-job training.
